I Just Got Some New Stickers, Review!!

So I got my Erin Condren Life Planner for an early birthday present about 2 weeks ago and I LOVE it!!  It has been helping me stay on track with my day-to-day, keep organized in my house to-do’s and keep my businesses running smoothly.

I am a crafter so in every aspect of my life, I must have my own creative flair.  While watching one of my favorite YouTube channels (Pretty Neat Living) I saw how she used these fun stickers to keep her planner organized while giving it her own look, kind of like scrapbooking.  I was HOOKED!

I immediately went to Etsy and found some fun stickers to buy!  I ordered from Megan’s Playhouse and here are all of my goodies:

She has a great selection of not only stickers, but other adorable handmade gifts a well!  In her shop announcement she offers a buy 4 sticker sheets, get the 5th free.  I opted for the Girl Scout stickers for my free item.  Each of the other sets ranged from $2.75- $4.50.  Shipping for my entire order was $1.. WHAT??  SERIOUSLY??  I paid a total of $13.75 for all of this FUN stuff!!

What’s In The Box??? Unboxing Influensters Comfort VoxBox!

Good Morning Brain Smoothie Recipe

Okay so I chose to start this morning a different way than most.  I appreciate that my coffee was already made by my sweet husband (thanks Dear), but I wanted to change my habits.  I know most of you think I am crazy, but I want to try limit my coffee intake slightly.  I LOVE coffee.. like a lot.  But with a lot of coffee comes a lot of caffeine and a lot of caffeine is not what my brain needs right now.  It needs nutrition and power.  So I decided to start my morning off with a Good Morning Brain Smoothie and let me tell you, it is delicious!  Here is what I used:

  • 6oz Vanilla Protein Ready Made Shake
  • 1/2 cup Frozen Organic Blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups Frozen Spinach
  • 20pcs Goji Berries
  • 2tbsp Hemp Hearts
  • 1/4 cup Coconut Milk
  • 1/2 peeled Frozen Banana
  • 1 sleeve It Works Greens On The Go (I used Orange)
  • Ice cubes (I could only fit 3)

I use my Ninja Single Serve and all of this will fit!  It is smooth, creamy and I feel satisfied after breakfast.  I don’t feel like I am in a fog as I would if I ate a muffin or cereal or just a cup of coffee.  Give it a try and see what you think!

Have You Tried That Crazy Wrap Thing??

If you haven’t tried it, you need to!  After losing weight by regular workouts and eating the right foods, I had some loose “baby stretched me out” skin under my bellybutton.  It was easily covered with jeans, but still very unflattering to me.  I have wrapped 3 times and have been using the defining gel on a regular basis and  I am soooo happy with the results!!

The Ultimate Body Applicator is a non-woven cloth wrap with botanically-based gel already applied to it.  You take it out of the package, unfold it and place it on the area you would like to tighten, tone and firm up!  When I wrap I cover it with plastic wrap and a belly band to keep it in place while I fold laundry, vacuum, do dishes etc.  I drink 2 bottles of water and after the 45 minutes, take it off!  The gel will work up to 72 hours so make sure to take a before and after photo!

This applicator is not like the “sweat the water out” salon wraps, where the results will go away after you eat or drink something.  With my water intake, whole food eating and regular workouts, my results have lasted 5 months!

We Are Back To The Weekly Routine!

With the start to the new school year and end of summer, the past month has come and gone by without a word from me about our adventures (okay maybe a photo or two.. or 50!)

So I will start by saying, we have gotten back into the swing of things and exciting things are happening! I have been an It Works distributor for 3 months and am getting PAID to help others get a handle on their health, WOW! It is amazing for me to be able to share my experiences with others in hopes that it will inspire them to just make little changes in the way they go about their day to day.

We (yes my Hubby finally got on board with me!) started back at the gym this week. It is nice he can meet me after work and we can talk about our day while working out with the kids having fun in the play area. Even though I have steadily been dropping the weight and losing inches the past few months, it is a slow process getting back into my workout rhythm. I am sore and my stamina is horrible! I also got a fitness evaluation yesterday. It was a very big eye opener for what I needed to work on to achieve my goals, step out of my comfort zone and try some new things like free weights and Body Sculpting. Yikes! I am going to use those measurements and numbers to push myself past my limit, that is my Conscious Decision.

My efforts are based on 2 words that I say to myself multiple times a day, Conscious Decisions: Choices made with full awareness of the consequence. You can choose to get up off the couch and move for 30 minutes, or not to. It is your choice. You can choose to eat a side salad with your steak instead of a baked potato. That is also your choice.

I don’t make every single meal at home, our family is “on the go” quite often. No matter where we go, there is always a healthier choice you can make. Like I just found out last week that Red Robin not only has bottomless fries, it now has bottomless BROCCOLI!! THANKS SO MUCH RED ROBIN!!

I am compiling a list of recipes I have tried, smoothies, full family meals, easy breakfasts, etc. I will start posting them regularly so you can follow along with what I do.  I know it has always helped me to have a clear list of things I can eat without the consequences and I hope you enjoy what I come up with.

Is it Really Considered Cheating?

I am not perfect and I don’t live/eat/breathe extremely healthy every day. I don’t go to the gym daily, though I try to do things to keep moving constantly and I don’t eat 100% “diet” food every meal, though I do follow some simple guidelines when I make the choice to stray.

Once a week we have Family Movie Night. It is something that allows us to spend a fun family evening together and we LOVE doing it! Sometimes we don’t get enough time together during the week, so we use this night to talk about things Aaron might not have gotten to participate in and just have fun together. We usually order (or make) Pizza, a guilty pleasure for the entire family. In the past 8 months we have cut our pizza bill almost in half by following our family rule, 1 14″ pizza and salad. We order (or make) a large salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, etc., everyone eats salad first including the kids. If there is room, we each take a slice! We don’t drink soda, we drink water or mix a fun Soda Stream recipe with Sweet Leaf drops.

Just making those conscious decisions before you take a bite is the key. Surround yourself with a lot of choices so you don’t feel deprived. Treat yourself every once in awhile to a piece of pizza or a small helping of pasta, but eat a large salad and drink a big glass of water first so you don’t overindulge because you feel hungry. It isn’t food that is the enemy, it is eating too much of the wrong foods at every meal that is the problem.

I just had a Dr. Appt yesterday and she was super happy to hear how I was living my life. She kept commenting that I look and sound so much better than I had a year ago when I saw her last. I have more energy, excited to do what I do every day and just love being myself. She has been eating similar to a Caveman style for a year and said she has no problem with treating herself to pizza or ice cream once a week or so. It is the portions and the other food you eat along with it that makes all the difference. If you eat a salad with different veggies, tomatoes, cucumbers, maybe some cheese, a glass of water and a piece of pizza it will fill you up and satisfy you so much longer than 4 slices of pizza and a soda. It won’t sit in the bottom of your stomach with all of the guilt for hours afterwards either!

I don’t consider our Family Movie Night pizza cheating. I consider it fuel for the soul, a guilty pleasure to enjoy one of my favorite foods with my favorite people. I look forward to our night together every week. It keeps me focused on my goals daily, knowing I will get to that Special day soon 🙂
