Another thing I add to my diet is greens. No, not just salad, that could get pretty boring. I add celery, spinach, kale, bok choy, pears, apples, zucchini, avocado, bell peppers, green beans, snap peas, jalapenos, broccoli, limes, cucumbers and asparagus among other green fruits and veggies.
There are a couple of things I do each day to ensure I get my greens. First I make my smoothies in my Ninja Professional blender with the single serve cup. I LOVE smoothies and so do the kids! I use spinach or kale as my green base, add either a frozen banana or an avocado for the smooth texture (avocado if I am trying to watch my sugar intake), add some fruit like strawberries, pineapple, goji berries, apples, or veggies like carrots, celery, broccoli, add a bit of ice, some protein powder or ready made protein shake then blend! Instant meal! My favorite is
- chocolate protein powder http://justamomonthego.myitworks.com/shop/product/316/
- ice/water
- 1tbsp peanut butter or almond butter
- spinach
- frozen banana (or avocado)
- frozen strawberries
Tastes just like a peanut butter cup!
Another way I get my greens is either adding the It Works Greens to my smoothies or put them in a bottle of water and drink! SOOOO easy!! One packet of the Greens To Go or 1 scoop of Greens gives you 8+ servings of fruits and veggies for the day. Greens help with digestion, PH balance in your body, acid reducer, regular colon function and give you an overall healthy balance to your diet with phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.
